The Scottish Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists (SAPP) was established in 1973. Membership is open to psychoanalytic psychotherapists, child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapists, adult psychoanalysts and child psychoanalysts.

Its aims are to be a centre for the dissemination of knowledge about the nature and significance of psychoanalytic psychotherapy through research and teaching.

It provides a range of ongoing CPD events for its membership and access to therapeutic services for members of the public.

Currently, SAPP is managed by an elected board who are responsible for its governance and its activities which include:
• Continuing Professional Development for members
• Conferences
• Finance
• Ethics and Professional Standards
• Promoting and Disseminating Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Scotland
