Trudy Darien-Nugent

Trudy Darien is an accredited Organisational Psychodynamic Therapist with APPCIOS, who specialises in working with Looked after children and young people with complex traumas, identity, and attachment difficulties. She has over 25 years’ experience of working in Therapeutic Childcare.
She currently works as an Organisational Therapist with Placement support to provide therapeutic support to vulnerable and hard to reach children and families.
She is an Organisational Consultant and Trainer to Ascent Fostering, a specialist fostering agency which has been recognised for providing ‘outstanding outcomes for ‘ Looked after children and young people.
She has devised an accredited therapeutic training programmes for social workers, mentors, residential staff, and foster carers to enable them to understand therapeutic theories and how to apply these techniques in the home or practice.
Additionally, she is as designed and co-facilitates the APPCIOS accredited course. “Understanding race and racism from a psychodynamic perspective”.
She is also an NVR trained.
