About Sophia Hilsley

I provide a reflective and supportive therapeutic space where clients can explore difficulties, gain understanding, and work towards meaningful change. My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thinking, while also drawing on CBT, Schema Therapy, Mentalisation-Based Therapy, and mindfulness when appropriate.

I work with individuals and couples on both a long-term and short-term basis, depending on what best meets their needs. I have particular experience in supporting people with:

Bereavement & Loss: grief, separation, and major life transitions.

Depression, Anxiety & Low Self-Esteem: including feelings of being stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed.

Cross-Cultural Issues & Trans-Generational Trauma: migration, cultural identity, and the impact of family histories.

Relationship Challenges: forming or sustaining close relationships, as well as managing conflict and change within couples.

Workplace & Academic Pressures: stress, burnout, and difficulties balancing professional and personal life.

I also integrate mindfulness, meditation, and yoga-based practices where helpful, supporting awareness, self-regulation, and a stronger sense of embodiment.

I see clients at Eaton Gate Practice in Belgravia (London SW1) and online, and I am also registered with the UKCP.
