My clinical practice is rooted within a contemporary attachment-based understanding of child development (pioneered by John Bowlby, Daniel Stern, Alan Schore...) that recognises the psychopathological effects in adulthood of trauma in early life. The richness of concepts and techniques drawn from psychoanalytic schools, whether Freudian, Kleinian, Independent and Relational also inform my work, particularly the contributions of Winnicot and the Balints.
Feelings emanating from social realities are not avoided in the consulting room. Whether these are produced by, for example, race, class, sexual orientation, gender, spirituality, indeed the threat of (nuclear) war and other forms of ecocide that haunt all our lives today. I am currently able to provide supervision.
