About Fiona McKinstrie
I am a qualified Dynamic Interpersonal Therapist and I offer a safe and thoughtful space where clients can begin to understand themselves and their relationships more fully.
Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that works by helping to develop understanding around the links between our emotional world and relational difficulties in life. DIT is a NICE-recommended treatment for depression and takes place over 16 weekly sessions.
DIT may be a good fit if you are dealing with:
– Depression or persistent low mood
– Difficulties in close or intimate relationships
– Feelings of loneliness, isolation, or disconnection
– Recurring emotional or relational patterns
I work with adults in this practice but I am also a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist, specialising in work with adolescents and young adults (up to the age of 25). As well as Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, my training includes clinical and pre-clinical postgraduate qualifications from leading psychotherapy institutions the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust and the Anna Freud Centre and I am professionally registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Sessions are 50 minutes, held weekly, with daytime appointments available.
