About Claire Tobin

I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist working in private practice. For over 15 years, my clinical work has focused on supporting people who have experienced adverse early life experiences, including situations where important emotional needs may not have been consistently met during childhood.

My approach is collaborative and reflective. I aim to work together with you to develop a deeper understanding of how your experiences may have shaped current difficulties, and to identify meaningful ways of addressing them.

I have completed post-qualification training in several evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT), Schema-Focused Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

After completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at King’s College London in 2013, I worked across a range of forensic, community and specialist adult mental health services within the NHS for over ten years
See here for more info: https://slam.nhs.uk/experts/?consultant=684.

Alongside my clinical work, I teach at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) at Kings College London and have published a number of academic and scientific articles.

In addition to providing psychological therapy, I also supervise other clinicians in delivering evidence-based psychological treatments.

My private practice allows me to work with patients in a more flexible way while offering the same high standard of effective, evidence-based psychological care. See here for more info: https://www.lighthousepsychology.co.uk/dr-claire-tobin
