Specialist Helpline Advisor
At YoungMinds, we are leading the fight to make sure that all young people can get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.
As a Specialist Helpline Adviser, you will be required to respond to complex calls from parents/carers via our telephone Helpline, who often need support with a multitude of concerns. You will be primarily routed calls that relate to your area of expertise and will also need to feel comfortable in exploring and providing advice around the main concerns we hear on the helpline – namely anxiety, depression, self-harm, school-based problems, anger, and suicide risk.
You will use your knowledge, expertise, and professional experience to support parents/carers. This includes offering advice on how service users can access and navigate statutory support services, signposting to other organisations, providing practical tips and strategies that can be used at home, and offering lots of emotional support and validation.
