Visiting Lecturer Psychoanalytic Studies MA

There are currently teaching vacancies for this coming academic year (2022-23) in the Applications Module of the pre-clinical MA, Psychoanalytic Studies (M16), at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

Salary: £42ph (seminar rate)

This module is concerned with the application of psychoanalytic concepts to objects of study from the fields of the arts, society, culture and politics, within an interdisciplinary framework.

Seminar Leaders are specifically sought with an interest in delivering Applications teaching on Disability (2 seminars), Gender (2 seminars) Race (2 seminars), Intersectionality (2 seminars) and their related social phenomena as objects of study. These seminars are to be co-led with the M16 Course Lead.

There is also an opportunity this year or next, to individually teach a five seminar series on an object of study to be agreed between the Seminar Leader and the M16 Course Lead (the module currently offers seminars on EDI, Society and Politics, Drama, Film, Poetry, Music and Narratives).

Seminars run Tuesdays, 3.30pm to 4.45pm, and are scheduled as follows:

  • Psychoanalysis and Disability: 04 October 2022 & 11 November 2022
  • Gender: 21 February 2023 & 28 February 2023
  • Race: 07 March 2023 & 14 March 2023***
  • Intersectionality: 14 March 2023 & 21 March 2023

The five seminar series runs weekly – Tuesdays 6.15 – 7.15 between 08 November 2022 and 06 December 2022.
