About Susan Whitby
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and DIT therapist with 25 years of relevant work experience, including 15 years of NHS work as a counsellor and psychotherapist.
I am experienced in working with a wide range of people of different ages, diverse backgrounds and beliefs. I have a particular interest in supporting people who are going through difficult key transition points in life, whether this is coping with loss and trauma, career changes, long term health diagnoses, new parenthood, empty nests, marriage, divorce. I am also interested in offering intensive analytic work where this is the most effective way forward.
I am a member of the UKCP United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, where I qualified in 1997. In addition, I am a qualified Supervisor with BAPPS. I am governed by the standards of conduct, performance and ethics of UKCP and BAPPS. I also hold an updated DBS Enhanced Certificate for working with Adults and Children, re-issued annually.
