About

“Some forms of ill-health, debility or anaemia, may (if other circumstances are favourable) produce an efflux of poetry in a way approaching the condition of automatic writing … we do not know until the shell breaks what kind of egg we have been sitting on.” – T. S. Eliot

Join us in November 2026 to explore the origins of creativity, the complex relationship of creativity with health and disturbance, and the contributions of psychoanalysis to understanding and facilitating creative processes, both in the consulting room and beyond.

Sophie Boswell (British Psychoanalytical Society)
