Description

Focusing on the theme of Institutional Harm, this hybrid conference will explore its profound impact on mental health and consider the perspectives and understanding that psychoanalysis can offer in recognising, addressing, and repairing such harm. Through a combination of formal presentations, clinical seminars, reflective discussion, and a site specific art installation, the event aims to open dialogue between professionals and communities. Speakers include Professor Alessandra Lemma, Dr Gerard Drennan, Dr Daniel Taggart, and Mr Stephen Rudder, chaired by Maxine Dennis.

Optional clinical seminars and work discussion groups are available, bookable on a first come, first serve basis, due to limited spaces.

This is the first of four conferences focusing on addressing some fundamental areas for the contemporary therapist starting with institutional practice, moving to childhood sexual abuse, mental health and the criminal justice system. Integral to these conferences will be the interface between psychoanalysis, community, art and contemporary clinical practice. Whilst each conference can be attended independently, they aim to build on each other, and we will be sharing details of the upcoming conferences soon. We look forward to your participation.

This event is hybrid, participants are welcome to join in person or online. This event will be recorded and available for 1 week post event.
