“Working with Adolescents and their Families in Crisis: Debates, Dilemmas and Clinical Considerations”
Maria Papadima is a child and adolescent psychotherapist trained at the
Independent Psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
Association (IPCAPA), London. She completed a PhD on trauma and
psychoanalysis and works in London with adolescents, young adults, and
parents in an NHS adolescent crisis team, as well as in private practice.
She has a longstanding clinical interest in therapeutic work with adolescents,
including brief and long-term treatment, as well as parent and adolescent
work during crisis.
A teacher and supervisior on various psychoanalytic
trainings, Maria has published on clinical work with adolescents and is
undertaking advanced training in psychoanalytic couples psychotherapy.
Maria is the co-editor of Adolescence in crisis: An Independent
Psychoanalytic Approach (Routledge, 2026)
