The Devouring Kronos: The impact of father-son relationships on the son’s relationship with food and the body in the Jungian consulting room with Dr Philippe Jacquet.
This talk is based on Philippe’s doctoral research and explores a rarely discussed subject: male eating disorders.
He will discuss his framework, the Male Eating Disorder Matrix, and illustrate it through the myth of Kronos, as a way to understand what is happening unconsciously in the room between analyst and patient.
Dr. Philippe Jacquet is a Jungian analyst, art psychotherapist and counsellor who has been practising for over 25 years in French and English currently practising in both central London and Colchester. He holds a master’s degree in art psychotherapy. He is an addiction specialist having trained at the prestigious Hazelden addiction training in the USA, and also trained in executive coaching at ESSEC, one of the best business schools in Paris. He runs group supervision in a range of settings: specialist rehabs for addiction and eating disorders, a psychiatric unit, and a large practice of psychotherapists. He also coaches in London.
