Our Trainee Day: A look back
In January, we hosted our first Trainee Day in over five years. We had a brilliant time connecting with our new trainee members and introducing them to the BPC and the psychoanalytic regulatory landscape.
Having launched our new trainee membership last year, we were pleased to host our new members at the British Psychotherapy Foundation library for a day of discussion and examination.
It’s important that our trainee members are able to get to know their future regulator and understand the importance of the regulatory process.
In attendance were our trainee members, members of the BPC staff team and some of our Trustees. Our CEO Greg-Ross Sampson presented some information about the BPC and it’s functions, he said:
“Our Trainee Day was a great opportunity to get to know our new trainee members. This is just the start of our renewed engagement with psychoanalytic trainees. We look forward to continuing this connetion with these bright minds that are the future of psychoanalysis.”
Trainees that attended the day also got a chance to meet with other trainees from across the UK. Together, they examined and discussed some ethical challenges that can arise in the consulting room.
Our Chair of Trustees, Lee Smith said:
“As a previous attendant of a BPC trainee during my training, I understand how impactful and important these days are. It’s crucial to remain connected with those at the forefront of psychoanalytic learning.”
